East Coast School of Ballet provides dance training to children of 3 years of age to adults.
Based in Malahide in North County Dublin, we offer a wide variety of dance classes. Students can take part in our East Coast School of Ballet shows, demonstration days, performances and examinations. Classes are taught in a fun, friendly, safe and positive environment by our passionate and dedicated teachers, where excellence in dance teaching is at the heart of everything we do.
Progression
Students have the opportunity to progress through their ballet grades from a tiny tot all the way through childhood, teens and adulthood whether they wish to focus on exam-based progression or dance with us solely as a hobby, it’s completely up to each individual.
From Primary level upwards, students need 1.5 to 2 years in each level in order to train the technique and performance quality required for the examination or to reach the standard required to complete their current grade in order to progress to the next level. We teach the Royal Academy of Dance syllabi and comply with RAD recommended hours of study for each level to completely train the syllabus tailored to each students age group. This generally takes 1.5 to 2 years.
Performances & Choreography
As dance is also a performance art, every two years students Pre-primary through to Adult levels have the opportunity to perform in our fully-costumed East Coast School of Ballet show.
Our next show is on Sunday 9th May 2027 in the O’Reilly Theatre Belvedere.
In between show years, we host demonstration days where parents and families are invited to come to class and watch their child perform their Grade at class.
